Hip Hop's Rat Pack makes a Hit at the Grammy's

Published on February 10th, 2009
Hip Hop’s “Rat Pack” featuring T.I., Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne, along with a pregnant M.I.A. made a smash with the performance of the summer 2008 hit “Swagger Like Us” at the Grammy Awards last night in LA. In the fashion of the original Rat Pack featuring Frank Sanatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop, the 4 superpowers of Hip Hip donned full tuxedos with the exception of the rebel Lil Wayne. I found that the emulation of such an iconic group in the 50′s and 60′s was fitting for such an occasion as the Grammy’s and was definitely glued to my seat as they performed. With the current status of the genre, does this prove that Hip Hop is indeed ALIVE?
And, is this one of the best Grammy Hip Hop performances of All-Time?
“Swagger Like Us” was originally on T.I.’s Paper Trail album, which is still available at the iTunes Store by clicking here: T.I. - Paper Trail
This is WHAT’S IN MY HEADPHONES…

I am one that is glad for recording technology..didn’t get the live feel.. however watching the you tube stream definitely left me with an inspiration..

These four folks are all talented in their own respects/successes at some of the highest levels..a point was made with this composition of concepts, swag, visual pop and presence..

Hip Hop is alive and well to those that can recognize the ever flowing evolution of music

Although M.I.A. was ready to pop lol… I wouldnt have missed the chance to perform live at The Grammys w/ Hov, TI, Wayne, and Yeezy. Thats a part of Hip-Hop History, I would of been there just like she was ready to drop my load!!!!
