New Music Tuesday feat. Rick Ross, Asher Roth & Chester French

Published on April 21st, 2009

Lots of new music today people!
Rick Ross – Deeper Than Rap
Back for his third LP, Rick Ross drops Deeper Than Rap amidst his rap war with 50 Cent featuring his first single, Magnificent featuring John Legend, but also featuring singles which have been creating buzz like Mafia Music (which has produced 2 remixes), and Maybach Music 2 featuring Kanye West and Lil Wayne. Other features include Nas, The Dream, Ne-Yo, Avery Storm, Trina, and Foxy Brown. With production mostly by the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, The Inkredibles and The Runners, this album has the same chill, laid-back, mafia/gangster rap feel similar to his previous albums Port of Miami and Trilla – if you liked these albums, you will like Deeper Than Rap as Ross makes his stake as one of the most influential rappers of the South in the present day. Songs like Mafia Music, Rich Off Cocaine, and Yacht Club are tracks that will be played with the top down over the summer. Find it here on iTunes: Rick Ross, T-Pain, Lil Wayne & Kanye West - Deeper Than Rap (Deluxe Version)
Asher Roth – Asleep in the Bread Aisle
One of the first freshmen rappers to drop their first album, Asher Roth dropped his album on this past weed day 4/20 symbolizing a staple in most of his verses throughout the album. Nah, I’m just joking, its not all about weed. The political/humorist rapper Roth who has gained notable buzz throughout the country discusses his 22 years of life experiences in his first single, I Love College and She Don’t Wanna Man, as well as discussing his comparison to Eminem in As I Am. The second single due out will be Lark on my Go Kart. The album features additions by a range of artists from Busta Rhymes and Cee-Lo to Keri Hilson and Chester French. With a diverse group of connections on the album, Roth attempts to set himself apart as a newcomer in hip hop. Most of the beat production came from another newcomer, Oren Yoel as well as a feature from Don Cannon. Overall, Asher Roth produces an above average album with Asleep in the Bread Aisle, not enough for him to win freshman of the year, but good enough for him to make an impression on the industry. Chester French – Love the Future
Still hot off their mixtape release of Jacque Jams Vol. 1 – Endurance, Chester French’s 6 year and long awaited first album is now available to the world. With high publicity through MTV, Chester French is one of the hottest bands out right now. All songs on the album were written and composed by D.A. and Max and its all them – no features. With such an incredible buzz with their mixtape, Chester French will be able to make an audience with rock n’ rollers as well as hip hop heads with their comparison as a mix of Outkast and The Beatles.
