Two artists that I listen to but that somehow not made the blog yet – Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa combine forces to present the How Fly Mixtape. The New Orleans and Pittsburgh rappers collaborate to bring Curren$y’s smooth, laid-back style with Wiz Khalifa’s more harder delivery over production. If you’re not familiar with Curren$y, he is the same Curren$y that combined with Lil Wayne on Where Da Cash At. Since then he has played the mixtape circuit dropping 7 mixtapes last year alone and his most recent This Ain’t No Mixtape this year already. Wiz Khalifa, from a city more prominent for football than hip hop in Pittsburgh – gained high notariety with his 2008 single, Say Yeah, which climbed up the Billboard Charts. So far this year he has brought out his Flight School Mixtape on his own and has more projects on the way…

A lot of people have been waiting on this mixtape – this combination of two hip hop styles is timeless. These two advocates of the weed smoke (as prevalent on their album cover) play off of each other in each song throughout the mixtape. A strong 15 song mixtape from top to bottom check out songs like Car Service, The Planes, Layover, Drunk Dialing and Rolling Up but everything else in between is dope as well – something to leave to your imagination. There is not one beat or rhyme that sounds the same throughout the mixtape. There is quality material through the whole mixtape. Anyway, grab a listen…tell me what you think. This is going into heavy rotation…
