Now I love hip hop but I’m always looking to post something different for my readers who may get sick of hip hop sometimes…

So I was glad when I was finally able to check my email and listen to this new voice in the form of Leila…

A little background – Leila is a singer songwriter from Montreal, Canada, with a growing buzz in Canada and Europe. She is currently signed to Seven30 Music/Universal and ready to take on the world. At only age 22,  she is now looking to break into the US market and has already gotten lots of attention on MTV as they have played her song on some of their top shows like Real World Cancun, The Hills, Making The Band, and Taking the Stage. Her voice is very sensual and soulful and you can tell she is going for a more eclectic and unique lane than most singers out right now – even being able to combine both English and French tracks like Comme Ca.

Upon her entrance into the US Market, her first single will be Free Song on her self-titled EP.  Shouts out to EL Johnson for sending this to me and the good people at Seven30Music! Check out her self titled EP of 5 tracks of hers…Leila EP and also check her out on Myspace!

She also has a song with another Canadian artist, Drake, check this out:
