Its funny how I run into music these days – its like good music just happens to find me these days, rather than the other way around. An example of this is when I met this young brother outside of The Dark Room after the Skyzoo/Chip The Ripper Show. He just happen to slide me his mixtape and we talked about music briefly as I headed out to my car. As WIMH grows I try to take anyone’s music and give it a listen as they are trying to come up just as I am. Little did I know that this was the same brother that performed at the Drake concert that went into the wee-hours of the morning this past May – where he, Mikkey Halsted, and Drake were the only artists that I dug the whole night. So I’m issuing my late pass on this one because Darren Anthony has the potential do something big in hip hop.

Darren Anthony’s mixtape, The Restaurant, which was presented by Mick Boogie (who’s mixtape hasn’t he been on this year…)has been stuck in the CD player of my car since he gave it to me. I’ve had friends in my car listen to him and can definitely vouch for his tracks. Production credits go to Pro & Brave, M Stacks, Phenom, Criss Ruler, and Mr. Stay Crunk – all of whom played to Darren’s versatility as an artist. No track is the same, he is able to effectively mix rapping and some singing well all while being able to continue the restaurant theme throughout the mixtape. Definitely check out tracks like Same Sh*t, Different Day, Fly Motherf*cker, Cool Crazy Chill, and Do this Again.
