The homie Stevie B of The Heirs hit me up about his another one of the Heirs crew dropping a new mixtape – this time from Nesstar, who will be dropping his Beautiful Noise 3 on all the blogs tomorrow. WIMH was lucky enough to sit down with him and get a quick interview as he talks about his mixtape in what he calls “Black Rock” – where his influences just aren’t in hip hop but in other genres…He also briefly talks about hip hop in general, and what he looks forward in 2010…

WIMH: Thanks for taking the time out to holler at me though…so, Introduce yourself. Tell us who Nesstar is…

Nesstar: No thank you for taking your time out for me…you may know me, you may not, but for those of who don’t my name is NESSTAR -  I make music and I  run with a group called “The Heirs” – you may have heard us, you may not but you will soon.

WIMH: Thats wassup bro…where are you from?

Nesstar: Hackensack, New Jersey…I rep the 201 area hard.

WIMH: No Doubt…I’ve been trying to get over east so bad man and everytime I try It seem like sometimes stops me but soon enough…anyway how long have you been rapping?

Nesstar: Since i was 8

WIMH: Nice…so Tell us about your upcoming mixtape, Beautiful Noise 3 – how did it come about? who did you work with?

Nesstar: Well one of my group members (Stevie) give the mixtape the name Beautiful Noise, and I basically worked artists that were down with The Heirs movement – rappers such as Banna Q , Scrap Hustle, Taydadon, Charile Rock and producers like Showtime, Flesh Beats, HeayweightBeats…

WIMH: No doubt…tell us about the Heirs Movement – how did that all come about?

Nesstar: At first we just was a group of friends that loved to make music and as we got older we wanted to take this to a another leavel, and thats what we’re trying to do now…

WIMH: Thats good business…what a better way to grow in something than with your boys…

WIMH: So back to the mixtape – what is the message that you are trying to bring to your listeners in this mixtape? What are you looking to say with your words?

Nesstar: The message is that this can be the type of music you hear you all the time.  If you support me this is not any “bang, bang, shoot em up music” -  this is “what you wanna hear music”. I don’t even call my music hip hop its more like black rock and when its coming out your speakers you hear the Beautiful Noise.

WIMH: thats dope man…its good to hear something other than hip hop these days…Who are your musical influences?

Nesstar: ummm i would say jay-z drake jadakiss lil wayne joe buddens lincoln park and the people i suround myself with

WIMH: Man, do you believe in all of this illuminati talk with Jay? Seems like people are just looking for a story…

Nesstar: Nah, i dont believe it. He’s to blessed to turn to the devil.

WIMH: I guess since he hasn’t done anything crazy or got in trouble in a minute, the media has to find something…moving on though…What do you think is the current state of hip hop right now? Some people say its dead.

Nesstar: Man, its not dead. There is just a new breed of rappers with different styles and flows, but the business its self as it is now is 90% buisness and 10% music.

WIMH: Yea, I’d definitely agree with that.

WIMH: In the Heirs gaining some notoriety in working with Dame Dash/Creative Control and them documenting your introduction…what is the one thing that you have learned the most from the experience so far?

Nesstar: Hard workers never sleep.

WIMH: Four words couldnt be more truer than those my friend….

WIMH: Alright so my blog is called What’s In My Headphones, so other than the artists you mentioned before that are you influences…What’s In YOUR Headphones right now? What are you currently listening to?

Nesstar: Dash – he’s part of  The Heirs his mixtape (The Script to My Instrumental)  just drop a week and half ago and Lil Wayne’s No Ceilings mixtape and prerry much everybody.  I like to give everyone a chance in my headphones.

WIMH: No doubt…Alright to finish off…what is the one thing you look forward to in 2010 and as you continue to go forward?

Nesstar: More success.

WIMH: yea 2010 is going to be year for many…i wish you all much success this year…
